Declare His glory among the nations…
“Does anyone dare despise this day of small beginnings?”
I just read this in Zechariah (4:10) this morning…small beginnings are not to be despised. So, I’m going to begin. It’s beginning that counts, right? Because if you never begin, then ideas are just dormant thoughts that never happen. Consequently, here I am writing my first blog post ever.
I thought I’d begin by telling you what to expect from this blog and what not to expect. This blog is meant to be a record of our journey as international servants. It will be written, for the most part, by me, Jeni, with Kevin contributing from time to time. The purpose is to share with our family and friends who are supporting us in this oversea adventure (and who ever else may be interested) what’s going on. We hope, through this venue, to keep in touch, show you how the Lord is moving wherever we are, let you know how you can pray and how your prayers and ours have been answered. My goal is to allow you to experience hearing and answering a call to missions, moving to Thailand, learning a new language, adjusting to a new culture, learning a new job, and a myriad of other things through weekly posts.
Currently, we are still in the U.S. and we will be for another 3 months. However, I thought it would be best to begin the blogging habit now, rather than after I get there and things get crazy. So, for the first few entries, I’ll be sharing about how we got to this point. I’ll share some of our thoughts as we heard and responded to God’s call to international service, experiences we had that confirmed that call and what it’s like to pack up and leave what you know and what you know how to do for what God’s is calling you to be and do. The first several posts will relate how God spoke to us and how we responded. Some of the posts will be about what God is teaching us through His Word, how he’s revealing Himself and how we are responding. Some will simply be a retelling of what we are experiencing along the way. We invite you to join us on this journey with all it’s ups and downs and twists and turns. Come…laugh with us; cry with us; learn with us; pray with us. We need you.
